Silvan Zingg é l’organizzatore di questo evento unico
nel suo genere. La stampa lo definisce come "l'ambasciatore svizzero del
boogie woogie." Silvan ha cominciato a suonare il pianoforte a sei anni.
Oggi é uno dei più rinomati interpreti dello stile a livello mondiale.

ENGLISH - The
young pianist Silvan Zingg is the promoter and organiser of this
festival.
The press calls him the "Boogie Woogie ambassador from Switzerland". He started
in early schooltime playing various instruments. In school he took trombone and piano
lessons. After two years of grafic design studies and one year of
University he decided to become professional musician. Since then his music career raised up and he played in more than 20 countries until today.

A 18 anni il suo brano „Little Willie’s Boogie“ lo porta alle prime posizioni delle classifiche americane.
Little Willie Littlefield é il primo a registrare il brano „Kansas City“ che divenne poi famoso con la versione di Wilbert Harrison e ripresa da innumerevoli artisti in tutto il mondo.

September 1931 in El Campo, Texas was influenced by Albert Ammons,
Charles Brown, and Amos Milburn, his first recording, “Little Willie’s
Boogie” was a hit in Texas in 1949, and brought him to the attention of
Jules, one of the Bihari brothers of Modern Records in Los Angeles.
There, he recorded “It’s Midnight”, which became a national hit reaching
# 3 on the Billboard R&B charts. He became a major club attraction and
recorded with top West Coast musicians such as Maxwell Davis.
In 1952 he moved to King Records, his first session producing “K.C.
Loving”, later re-recorded by Wilbert Harrison as “Kansas City”. However,
Littlefield’s recording and his subsequent releases were not successful,
although he remained a successful club act in the San Francisco area.

da giovane si trasferisce in California. Pianista, cantante e showman con una grande presenza in palco, riesce a coinvolgere ogni sorta di pubblico con il suo stile personale molto swing e „rockin-a-boogie“ come ama definirlo lui.
Il simpatico californiano é stato nominato dalla Blues Foundation come pianista dell’anno 2007.

and His Rocket 88s. The San Francisco bluesman, long known for his
showmanship and flair on stage, has finally realized a long-running
dream; to get back to the jump blues sound of the great big-band Forties.
Woods is no mere revivalist - his music appeals to blues lovers and rock
and rollers as well as dance fans.

sounds that seem to evoke memories of long ago. Just a man at a grand
piano, just a seemingly simple music, but fascinating perhaps for just
that reason.
Axel Zwingenberger has
been playing this game for more than two decades. With his ardour for
the boogie woogie, "the hottest music that was ever invented for the
piano" (Axel Zwingenberger), he has engaged cultivation of this almost
forgotten African-American folk music art and contributed decisively to
the revival of a flourishing boogie piano scene in Central Europe.

Anke Angel is
a powerful boogie woogie lady that doesn't need any fear against the men
on stage. She proofes her ability, playing that powerful blues, dynamic and pure boogie
woogie, but also soft and simple ballads and warm jazzsongs like
contemporary jazz-singers as Norah Jones and Diana Krall. Her live-shows
are a feast for eyes and ears.

Viene da Barcelona, é l’unico vero specialista dello stile boogie woogie in Spagna. Suona in varie formazioni il pianoforte e l’organo Hammond.
ESPANOL-Lluís Coloma interpreta composiciones originales en un espectáculo lleno de matices, fuerza y honestidad. Su música evoca el sonido de los pianistas de Nueva Orleans pasando por los Barrelhouse hasta Chicago, cuna del Blues eléctrico. Coloma defiende un concepto acústico del Blues siguiendo la tradición de los pianistas de Boogie Woogie. Un estilo lleno de ritmo, pasión y emoción, con un toque festivo, que se contagia rápidamente a todo aquel que lo escucha.

Born
and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Lluís started to play piano at early age
9. Influenced by records of Jerry Lee Lewis, Roosevelt Sykes and Alan
Price, he changed his classical piano studies to Rock&Roll. Very soon he
showed an amazing ability to play Blues & Boogie Woogie.
From his beginning this outstanding pianist has been developing a
personal touch and an incredible left hand offering powerfull
performances full of virtuosity and creativity.
Being one of the most requested piano players in Spain, after taking a
degree in Engineering, he decides to dedicate himself entirely to his
passion, music.

Il pianista francese di Tolosa ama fondere diversi stili sulla tastiera
del pianoforte. Per diversi mesi all'anno vive negli Stati Uniti dove ha
suonato e registrato con grandi maestri come ad esempio Memphis Slim.
Nel 2005 Philippe Lejeune e Silvan Zingg hanno suonato come gli unici
due europei alla serata

The young
pianist attended a 1968 concert by master boogie-woogie and blues
pianist Memphis Slim, and immediately put an end to his classical
efforts and began teaching himself the blues, scouring local record
shops for recordings by boogie-woogie greats. In 1980 he cut an album
titled Dialog in Boogie as a piano duo with Memphis Slim who had been a
Parisian citizen since 1962.
LeJeunes powerful, accurate left hand and graceful melodic
interpretation on the right hand create the sort of power of a
syncopated freight train. His repertoire ranges from classic barrelhouse
boogie woogie piano to Duke Ellington and Horace Silver tunes as well
those of Milt Jackson and George Gershwin. He and Silvan Zingg played
together at the Motor City Boogie & Blues Festival in Detroit.
